Born in Kinshasa, Meschack Elia rose through Congolese football at Don Bosco and TP Mazembe, winning CAF Confederation Cups and the best-player award at the 2016 African Nations Championship. He spent five productive seasons at Swiss club Young Boys before moves to Nantes and Alanyaspor. A direct, hard-running forward, he scored in the decisive 2026 World Cup qualifier against Nigeria.
