Born in Accra, Mensah began at the West African Football Academy before joining the Red Bull system, spending years on loan across Austria, Belgium, Portugal and France with Bordeaux. Since 2022 he has been a regular left-back at Auxerre, helping them win promotion from Ligue 2. A 2021 AFCON, 2022 World Cup and 2023 AFCON veteran, he brings experience to Ghana's defence.
