Born in Amsterdam to Ghanaian-descent parents, Luckassen captained AZ Alkmaar's youth and broke through there before a move to PSV, where he won the Eredivisie, followed by loans across Germany, Belgium and Turkey. He found new life at Cypriot side Pafos, winning their first league title and scoring the historic header that beat Villarreal in the Champions League. A former Netherlands youth international, he switched to Ghana in 2026.
