Born in Saint-Marc, Haiti, Ricardo Adé had an extraordinary path to the top: an early move to Thailand collapsed when an agent defrauded and abandoned him, after which he rebuilt his career in the United States, Chile and finally Ecuador. The commanding 1.90m centre-back became a star at LDU Quito, winning back-to-back Ecuadorian titles, and has captained Haiti since 2021. He is the experienced anchor of the World Cup defence.
