Giovanni Reyna was born in Sunderland, England while his father, USMNT great Claudio Reyna, played there; his mother Danielle also represented the U.S. women's team. After the family settled in New York and he passed through the NYCFC academy, he joined Borussia Dortmund and became the youngest American ever to appear in the Bundesliga.
