An Antalya native, Uğurcan Çakır became Trabzonspor's number one in 2019, captained the club and helped end their 38-year title drought by winning the 2021-22 Süper Lig. Renowned for his reflexes and command of the box, he starred at Euro 2024 as Türkiye reached the quarter-finals. In September 2025 he joined Galatasaray in a landmark deal worth around €27.5m and is the clear first-choice keeper heading into the World Cup.
