Ordóñez developed at Deportivo Azogues and Independiente del Valle, debuting in 2022 before Club Brugge paid around €4 million for him months later. He grew into a cornerstone centre-back in Belgium, winning the 2023-24 Pro League title and 2024-25 Belgian Cup and featuring in the Champions League.
