Medina came through Independiente del Valle, debuting in 2022 and winning the Copa Sudamericana and Recopa Sudamericana early in his career. He moved to Belgium's Genk in early 2025 on a long-term deal. A versatile player who operates on either flank as a wing-back or wide attacker, he made his senior Ecuador debut in 2024.
