A product of Genk's academy from the Limburg region, Mike Penders announced himself as one of the country's biggest goalkeeping prospects, debuting for Genk at 18 to become one of the youngest keepers in Belgian Pro League history. Chelsea moved to secure him in 2024 and completed the transfer in 2025, immediately loaning him to Strasbourg, where he kept a clean sheet on his Ligue 1 debut. The young giant is the third-choice keeper in Belgium's 2026 squad.
