Born Pablo Martín Páez Gavira in Los Palacios, Andalusia, Gavi exploded out of La Masia as a fearless teenage midfielder, becoming a Barcelona and Spain regular before he was 18. A serious knee injury in 2023 and another meniscus problem in 2025 disrupted his rise, limiting him to 13 appearances in 2025/26 before a March 2026 return ahead of the World Cup.
