Born in Mindelo, Josimar Dias - universally known as Vozinha - began at local side Batuque before joining city rivals CS Mindelense, and his journeyman career has since taken him through Cyprus, Moldova, Angola and Portugal, where he now keeps goal for second-tier Chaves. He debuted for Cape Verde in 2012 and was between the posts as the Blue Sharks reached the 2013 AFCON quarter-finals on their first appearance. A commanding veteran and vice-captain, he is the experienced first-choice keeper for the nation's historic first World Cup.
