Born in Montevideo, Aguirre joined Liverpool of Uruguay at twelve and earned an early move to Italy's Udinese, though loans and injuries stalled his European career. He revived his fortunes in Mexico with Necaxa, Monterrey and Club America, winning the Apertura 2024 title, before joining Tigres UANL in February 2026. The veteran striker offers attacking depth for Uruguay.
