Aymen Hussein grew up in Hawija, Kirkuk amid conflict that claimed his army-officer father, and rose from small clubs to a breakout 2016-17 season at Al-Naft. He won the league and golden boot with Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya before spells in Tunisia, Qatar, the UAE and Morocco. A classic target man, he became Iraq's main striker and one of the country's all-time leading scorers, etching his name in history at the World Cup playoff.
